First Out!!
Fist bird out 6:18. Sorry for the quality of this mobile photo.
The young never go back to the box, they wouldn't be able to fly that precisely. They will definitely stay near by the grounds where they will try get near each other as much as they can for awhile. --Lix
Liz: These pics are wonderful. I missed seeing the first flight by about 30 seconds. I was sitting at my computer and finally decided I should get ready for work around 6:17. With my toothbrush in my mouth I stepped back for another glimpse and whoa- only 3 birds in the nest. Darn. I have watched these wonderful birds since there were 4 eggs. I feel like I'm their Mom. What a wonderful experience this has been. Thanks Liz for your wonderful website. Willi Christensen

Oooo there he is! I hope he's going to be okay!
Will the first bird come back to the nesting box after the first flight?
A shout out of appreciation to Liz for keeping us informed and the video clips available. You are wonderful. So thankful to see the first flight.
Thanks for the post. Will the bird return to his or her siblings and parents?
