On the Edge!

Solo was making me quite nervous tonight. Only hours or short days away from fledge. He cranes his neck looking for parents at 1:05 and 1:35. Thought he was going to tip right out! Toward the end he is goofing around and almost loses it at 5:05.

Solo's making me a little nervous. While watching this morning, there have been a couple times my heart skipped a beat when she started to wobble on the edge and had to work fast to recover.

Thanks for the vid, Liz!! yes, its nail biting time!

Lots of flapping, running, "climbing the walls" (I've seen this behavior at other nests) Several parent touch and goes...BUT, Mom has now put her foot down..She is currently in the box, standing over Solo, who is zonked in the corner. Maybe she thought he had done enough running around? Who knows.

I too was watching this morning, watching Solo banging up against the nest walls. (Kind of like Boxer Sue last year) she seems to be ready to fly, but with this harsh hot weather, I'm a little worried about these hot buildings. Like Bob says we just have to let nature take its course. Good luck little Solo. And Dad too.

Did Solo get anything to eat today?

Not that I saw. Parents sometimes use food to lure them out of the box for first flight. Mom may fly by with prey, land on another building, telling Solo its time to get moving.
