Hatch Tonight??

As Bob just told me over the phone, this incubation gig can be quite tiresome. Folks, heads up, we've got a hatch about to happen...

Here's a video taken earlier where you can possibly hear the chick in the egg?

Here's a photo possibly showing a hole in the front egg. Keep your cams on!!

I've been watching pretty closely and so far (0859 a.m. on Wed., May 22)all that I've been able to see is: two entire eggs and a portion of a third(entire?)egg. Did anyone happen to note if the male moved the "wayward" egg back into the scrape when he came in to relieve the female("wayward" egg first reported and observed by me at 4:14 p.m. yesterday)? Rather than assuming, or concluding that the female rejected the egg, I wonder if it is possible that it was nudged out due to carelessness, or simply an accident on her part? RW

All eggs are being incubated right now. Because chicks should be fully developed by now they are ok not always being under a parent. (unless they are being rained on~which these aren't or extreme temps)

RE: Pipped egg...the chick has about 1/3 of the egg to go before it can push the halves apart. This can take minutes or it can take hours..but, if all goes well..We'll have first chick today.

Thanks skygirl and JE for comments. Bob loves to get details for his 'notes' :)
